For many Arden students, their first semester of university is also their first time using a personal computer, like a laptop. If that sounds like you, then the below resources may be useful to help you gain an understanding of some of its important features. 

1) What are your desktop and taskbar?

Two of the most important spaces on your personal computer that you need to know about are your desktop and your taskbar. Your desktop is the 'landing screen' you see when your computer starts up, whereas your taskbar is where you can find your open applications.

2) How to search the internet

Knowing how to search the internet on a personal computer is an important skill for studies, life, and work. If you have never had to open an internet browser on a personal computer before, this short video may be helpful. 

3) How to find your downloads on your computer

A useful skill to learn is how to work with your 'downloads' folder on your computer. This is because throughout the course of your studies, you will likely be downloading important information like your lesson slides, university forms, and research materials.
