Legislation.gov.uk is the official UK government website for legislation. It provides access to all types of UK legislation, including Acts of Parliament and Statutory Instruments.
You can check the status of an Act and locate its original or revised version.
How to search Legislation.gov.uk
- Enter your search terms ("e.g. companies act 2006"). A list of results is displayed.

Click on the title to see the full text.
- To jump to a specific section of the Act click on the section title in the table of contents.
Tips: We recommend searching within the original version of an Act (as it was enacted) as not all of the Act may have been enacted. Explore the Version section to find out more.
