British Standards Online (BSOL) provides instant access to over 100,000 internationally recognised standards including ISO, EN, BS, PA, ASTM and IEC.
Logging in
If you are already logged in to Arden's single-sign in (e.g. iLearn) you can access BSOL directly through the library's A-Z List of Databases.
Alternatively, BSOL can be accessed via the BSOL website
- Click on Institutional login
- Click on OpenAthens login
- Type “Arden” in the search box. A link will be displayed. Click on the link enter your Arden username and password.
Finding a standard
The easiest way to find a standard is to search for the standard number (e.g. ISO 27000) in the search box

You can also browse for standards by subject or module. To see all of the modules available to Arden University users click on My Subscription(left hand side of page).

Viewing standards online
You can view standards online using the QuickView icon.

Downloading and printing
BSI have added Digital Rights Management to files which means that if you wish to download or print a standard you will first need to install FileOpen on your device. This is a plugin for Adobe Acrobat.
