What is Turnitin Draft Coach and how can I access it?
________________________________
Turnitin Draft Coach is an add-on in the online version of MS Word, which all Arden University students have access to.
You will find Draft Coach under the 'Turnitin' option in the toolbar.
Draft Coach has a number of uses, but the one you will likely use most often is the built-in similarity checker.
The similarity checker allows you to check for similarity issues as you work. Draft Coach will scan your work and indicate any problematic parts of your writing, which may need to be better paraphrased.
What are the benefits of using Draft Coach instead of Turnitin on iLearn while I work?
Using Draft Coach is a lot more efficient than waiting for a Turnitin report via iLearn, as a 'traditional' Turnitin report can take some time to generate, and you are likely to submit on iLearn only a few hours before your deadline.
Using Draft Coach as you go can help you keep on top of any similarity issues as you work, so that there are no surprises when it comes time to submit for marking.

Some points to note about Draft Coach
- It is recommended that you use Draft Coach before all of your formative feedback submissions. You can also continue to use it before your summative (final) submissions
- You will only have access to Turnitin Draft Coach in the online version of MS Word, when you are signed in using your Arden University credentials
- Each MS Word document can be checked for similarity three times by Draft Coach. If you would like to check your work more than three times, you can copy and paste it into a new document for additional checks
