In some cases, especially if you speak Americanised English, the word “journal” can mean a personal record of thoughts and feelings, much like a diary.

 

However, in the context of the university, a journal is a compilation of research papers by different authors centred around a specific field of study, such as biological psychology or macroeconomics.

 

They are often published quarterly (four times a year) and due to this fact are usually seen as the place where cutting edge research can be found.

Our library gives you access to thousands of journal articles via many different databases. The easiest way to access journal articles relevant to your subject is to conduct a search of the library, using keywords
