Overview

SPSS is an application for conducting statistical analysis and data management. Arden University holds a site license which students and staff can use.

Windows users

1. Go to AppsAnywhere and search for IBM SPSS.
2. SPSS is available as a virtual application. Follow the online instructions to install CloudPlayer and run SPSS virtually. 

Mac users

Unfortunately SPSS is not yet available in Mac version on AppsAnywhere and you will need to install the application. Follow the instructions below.

STEP 1: Download

1. Go to https://spssdownloads.arden.ac.uk/
2. You will be prompted to enter a username and password. Email Library@arden.ac.uk to request these.
3. Select the appropriate download file (.exe) (.pkg) for your computer.

STEP 2: Installation

1. Double-click on the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions

STEP 3: Launch SPSS

1. Once installed open SPSS and click Launch License Wizard.
   
   
    
2. Select Concurrent user license
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
    
3. Enter the license manager server name - spss.arden.ac.uk. 
   
   
   
    
4. Click Finish.
    
5. Restart SPSS to activate the license. If you are prompted about the license on next login, select Use current license.
