What should I do to prepare for an academic skills appointment?
Answer
At a one-to-one appointment, you and your Academic Skills Tutor will discuss which areas of your work you would like to improve.
To get the most out of your appointment, it is important to adequately prepare and allow your Academic Skills Tutor the opportunity to prepare for your session. To prepare for your appointment:
- If appropriate, please upload a sample of your work (no more than 500 words in length) when you book the appointment. Alternatively, send it to AcademicSkills@arden.ac.uk. If possible, please do this 24-48 hours prior to your appointment and ensure it is in a readable format.
- Clearly state which area you would like to focus on in your tutorial – for example, writing style, structure or finding resources.
- If you would like to discuss an assignment brief, please aim to send this to the Academic Skills Tutor 24-48 hours before your appointment.
